THE ENGLISH HERBALISTS DIET

This is aimed specifically at people who have never been able to lose weight (and keep it off) before.

LOOK FORWARD TO ALL OVER FAT LOSS WITHOUT CALORIE CONTROLLED DIETING.

THIS IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SORT OF DIET

For decades the accepted wisdom has been that there was only one way to lose weight that was guaranteed to be successful, and that was to eat less food by following a strict calorie-controlled diet.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Most diets fail because they demand constant effort and deprivation. Most people are just not motivated enough to stick to a calorie-controlled diet and although many do lose weight it usually goes back on and you go back to square one.

The English Herbalist's Diet succeeds because it is so simple. It's not much a diet as a novel and unique technique of food manipulation.

There are two grades of food that hold the key to weight loss. They are Carbohydrates and Protein.

Both provide energy and are essential to life, and both can deposit fat on your body if eaten to excess.

But taken in a certain way then your bodies own metabolism will help you slim.

We had a 37 year old customer attend our herbal clinic several years ago who was desperate to lose weight. She had tried to diet by restricting calories since her early teens, but although she did lose a considerable amount of weight it would inenvitably reappear the minute she relaxed her dietary regime.

To motivate her and to prove to her the validity of this programme we advised her to eat only protein and drink only water-based liquids for 7 days. As much as she wanted. After the 7 days she returned to us and was found to be 3 pounds lighter.

She was overjoyed and of course she told all her friends about the "secret".

THIS THEN IS THE ENGLISH HERBALISTS DIET.

Pick a day (many people find Wednesday convenient but decide which is the best day for yourself)and eat only protein and drink only water based beverages on that day.  Tea and coffee are fine (with a little skimmed milk if needed) and no alcohol.

Apart from your chosen Protein only day, for the other days you can eat anything you wish (within reason) but try to reduce fat intake and increase dietary fibre.  Also avoid the bad carbohydrates listed below.

If you follow the simple advice above you will lose weight steadily and will not have to give up the foods you love.

Please don't make the mistake of thinking that this diet sounds too good to be true.  Reject scepticism and just give it a try.

FOR YOUR ONE PROTEIN FOOD DAY A WEEK EAT AS MUCH AS YOU WISH OF THE FOLLOWING.

Eggs,  Beef, Lamb, Pork, Chicken, Turkey, Kidney, Liver, Venison Veal, Cheese, Cottage Cheese, Low-fat Yogurt, Herring, Mackerel, Sardine, Salmon and Trout, Halibut, Cod, Haddock, Hake, Sole, Plaice, Tuna, Molluscs Oysters, Mussels, Lobster, Crab, Prawns and Shrimps, Soya.

FOR YOUR REMAINING SIX CARBOHYDRATE DAYS OF THE WEEK EAT AS MUCH AS YOU WISH OF THE FOLLOWING.

All raw or lightly cooked vegetables; all fruits fresh or frozen.  Beans, legumes, nuts and seeds. High-fibre 100% wholemeal bread.  Wholegrain cereals, Muesli etc.

You can also include any meat (with the fat cut off)  plus any fish.

These good carbohydrate foods provide your body with energy, optimum nutrition, proper brain and organ function and a healthy, attractive appearance. They can maintain healthy blood sugar and triglyceride levels to manage or avoid developing diabetes and heart disease.

THE BAD CARBOYDRATES TO AVOID AS MUCH AS YOU CAN

All candies, jelly and jam. Fizzy drinks, sodas, fruit juices, fruit drinks, puddings, custards and other sweets; processed refined grains, like white rice, bread and pasta made with any refined flour; cakes, cookies and other sweet bakery products.

Bad carbohydrates are carbohydrate foods that have been highly refined and processed, removing most of the nutritional value and fibre. They're generally loaded with high-calorie fats, sweeteners, preservatives and other unhealthy additives.

With all the processing and additives, bad carbohydrates can create a surge in insulin, which can overwork your pancreas, cause you to store fat and lead to diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.
